WHERE WILL YOU SPEND ETERNITY
What happens when we die? One of many questions that have been pondered on throughout the history of mankind. What really happens when we die? Does anybody really know? Can we know?
The answer to those questions can be answered in one book and that book is the Bible. The bible is the word of God and if there is one lie in the book then you can’t believe in any of it. But if it is true then you can depend on all of it. With that said the Bible declares in Hebrews 9:27 And as it is appointed unto man once to die…
Why do we die? Did God create us just to live and one day die? Very interesting questions indeed. Well the Bible gives us the answer to the question why do we die. Two times in the book of Ezekiel it says (in chapter 18 and verses 4 and 20) The soul that sinneth, it shall die. So the answer to the question why do we die is answered by one word, sin. Sin is the reason we die.
Now with that said looking at the two verses mentioned above, we can come to the conclusion that we are sinners. We all have an appointment with death and what causes death? Sin. So we are sinners. The Bible tells us we are sinners. No one likes to admit they are a sinner, but the Bible declares that very fact. Because we are sinners, we deserve to spend eternity separated from God because He demands perfection and as we will see, we fall short of God’s perfection.
Let’s take a walk down Roman’s Road as we look at this topic of salvation.
Romans 3:10-12 As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one. There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God. They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no not one.
Romans 3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;
We are all sinners and not only that, we saw in the verses above that not only is there no one that does good, there is none good period. So we are sinners.
Romans 5:8 But God commendeth (showed) His love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
God knew we weren’t good and we could do nothing to obtain heaven so, He sent His Son Jesus to die in our place.
Roman 6:23 For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
This verse tells us that God demands a payment for our sin and the only payment God will accept as payment for our sin is death (see Romans 5:8 above) But that verse also tells us that Jesus paid our payment for sin on the cross at Calvary (gift) when He died. The Bible says that Jesus satisfied God’s payment for sin. I John 2:2 And he (Jesus) is the propitiation (satisfaction) for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.
Romans 10:9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
This verse tells us that since Jesus paid our payment for sin then in order for one to go to heaven, all they have to do is believe that Jesus died for them and call on His name to save them.
Salvation is as simple as A,B,C.
A - Admit you are a sinner
B - Believe that Jesus died your death and that He rose again
C - Confess with your mouth that He is Lord
Will you do that today? No more do we have to fear death. Jesus has already died for us and has prepared the road to travel. The Bible makes it clear that those that put their faith in Jesus Christ has a home in heaven. But those that reject Jesus will face an eternity in hell. That is not popular among people today and will call what was just said hate speech. But that statement was not said with hatred, it was said with love. Jesus loves you very much and He wants you to trust in Him. Please do that before it’s eternally too late.
